At the airport, the president was greeted by former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyy, who recently assumed the duties of Ukraine's ambassador to the United Kingdom. In Britain, the president will focus on relations between the two countries. He is scheduled to meet with the King of Great Britain, Northern Ireland, and the Commonwealth Realms Charles III, as well as Prime Minister Keir Starmer, government officials, and defense industry leaders. According to the Office of the President, the parties will sign an intergovernmental agreement to support Ukraine's defense industry, discuss future defense cooperation, and expand Ukrainian defense capabilities.
