39:42Now PlayingPolitical analyst Andriy Vihirinsky @LEHIST_UA together with host Fakhrudin Sharafmal @FaridGovoryt discussed the latest news from Ukraine and the world during a stream on Channel 24 YouTube. In particular, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said that Ukraine would not extend the gas transit agreement with Russia after its expiration at the end of 2024. He made the announcement during a joint press conference with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. Shmyhal stressed that Ukraine's strategic goal is to deprive the Kremlin of profits from the sale of energy resources that finance Russia's military spending. He also called on European countries to completely abandon Russian oil and gas, noting that Ukraine expects to gradually diversify its energy supplies. Ukraine's Western partners are considering ending the war through negotiations in 2025. However, the decision on the talks should be made only in Ukraine. Bloomberg notes that officials in Western countries have begun to carefully consider a negotiated end to the war between Ukraine and Russia as part of their 2025 strategy. But at the same time, Western officials have made it clear that the decision to negotiate will be made by Kyiv and there is no pressure on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on this issue.
