6:00Now PlayingPresident Donald Trump has made what analysts describe as an “astonishing U-turn” in his approach to Russia - abandoning his own public deadline for Moscow to agree to a ceasefire in Ukraine and replacing threats of new sanctions with an agreement to hold a summit with Vladimir Putin in Alaska next week. The move comes after days of increasingly tough rhetoric from Trump, including talk of secondary tariffs and damaging measures against Russia’s economy. Ukraine and European nations have given the U.S. their own plan for the upcoming Trump-Putin talks, rejecting what they call a “Russian plan” for a ceasefire. According to the Wall Street Journal reports, the proposal demands a full ceasefire first, and says any territorial changes must be mutual, backed by strong security guarantees such as possible NATO membership. TV Host Nataliia Lutsenko will talk about these and other current news.
