During a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about the results of joint efforts with the Alliance member states to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities. The Head of State thanked the NATO chief for his resolute support, especially for the PURL program, thanks to which Ukraine purchases weapons from the United States. According to him, this allows Ukraine to buy in America such absolutely essential items as air defense systems. He added that it is important that each month this program receives more funding and efficiency. “On average, it’s about one billion dollars a month. Mark and I discussed that it could be a billion a month, or maybe around one and a half billion. This requires further work. We also talked about how to engage more countries in this program,” the Head of State noted.
