British Prime Minister Keir Starmer suggested Russia had made a "huge strategic blunder" in its invasion of Ukraine, as he addressed the Munich Security Conference on Saturday. "Russian casualties number well over a million," Starmer said. President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's speech was “very reassuring” but noted that “in the administration, some have a harsher tone on these topics.” In her speech to the annual Munich Security Conference, she stressed that “Europe must become more independent,” including on defense.
