5:00Now PlayingUkraine's president said Sunday that peace efforts were continuing despite the US' focus on Iran. In his nightly video address, Volodymyr Zelenskyy summed up two days of meetings between the Ukrainian delegation and envoys of US President Donald Trump, saying there are signals that “further exchanges may be possible.” “It is clear that the attention of the American side at this time is primarily focused on the situation around Iran and in that region, but this war of Russia against Ukraine must also be brought to an end,” Zelenskyy said. Zelenskyy also spoke about the situation on the frontline, saying that in recent days Russians have conducted more assaults and have “significantly stepped up their activity.” “But this also means higher Russian losses,” Zelenskyy added. According to Zelenskyy, over the past week more than eight thousand Russian soldiers have been killed or seriously injured.
