The evening portion of the convention will include speeches from the president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., and his partner, Kimberly Guilfoyle, as well as Mark and Patricia McCloskey, the St. Louis couple who were briefly charged for waving guns at Black Lives Matter protesters this summer. Earlier in the day, Trump made an unannounced appearance at the Republican convention proceedings in Charlotte after securing enough votes during the roll call of states. Details about the convention have remained in flux as the party works out how to put on a multiday event given the constraints and health concerns of the coronavirus pandemic.
