as posted by the channelAn orphaned rufous bettong joey named Mr. Bean is being raised by wildlife ranger Riley Tydeman after being thrown from his mother's pouch in a wildlife sanctuary last year.
“Mr. Tydeman was the natural choice as surrogate ‘mum’ having successfully raised a number of macropod joeys before, including Rufous Bettongs,” conservation organization Aussie Ark said.
Rufous bettongs, sometimes called rufous rat-kangaroos, are small marsupials that were once widespread in parts of eastern Australia. According to Aussie Ark, the species has experienced habitat loss and an introduction of predators that have reduced its range.
