Experts estimate that people who drink only bottled water may be ingesting an additional 90,000 microplastics every year compared with around 4,000 extra particles for people who rely solely on tap water.
Instead, drink tap water with a reverse osmosis filter, says Dr. Trisha Pasricha, a physician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, an assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and The Washington Post’s Ask a Doctor columnist.
