In the last year and a half, we’ve spent somewhere around $350k, largely personally or grassroots funded, and with volunteer help, primarily in Memphis, TN. In that time we’ve helped around 200 people off the streets, into recovery, jobs, housing, and more.

This has had a measurable impact on crime in the areas in which we operate, it puts Americans back into the workforce, reduces trafficking, violence, suffering, and so many more good things happen as a result.

It’s good for our communities, our economy, our children, and our future.

If we assume every other grassroots org would have the same level of impact as us, that $95 Billion would get over 50 million Americans off the streets.

But not everybody is going to be that effective. Which is just fine, because less than 700,000 Americans are on the streets, 40,000 of those being vets.

At what point will congress look inward and worry about Americans getting left behind on the battlefield right here at home and worry a little less about battlefields overseas?

Y’all know I worked the evacuation out of Afghanistan, and Israel/Gaza, and Ukraine, and we’re about to send one of our vets in recovery back to UKR for his FIFTH rotation doing demining trainings - so it’s not that I don’t believe these efforts are important.

I gave up TWO YEARS of my life to one of them.

I’m just saying Americans should be most important and it often doesn’t feel like the lost and broken here at home get more than a passing glance.

We can do better.
