as posted by the channelFila's story really began in childhood - his father shot his mother in the back, right in front of him, at eight years old. Then made little-boy-Fila pack the bags to go on the run.
Unsurprisingly, Fila was incarcerated for the first time shortly after becoming a teenager, and he spent the next four DECADES in and out of jails, penitentiaries, and institutions.
When we began our work in South Memphis, one of the human trafficking operations - a brothel - we shut down happened to be HIS.
This went over about as well as you think it would.
So how did Fila end up becoming our strongest ally on the streets of Memphis and why is now a savior to a population of women he once exploited?
