Owen Army Episode 7: Combat Veteran and 3x Cancer Defeater Elisha "Perk" Perkins

"Here's your gun. Use it."

Those were the first words Elisha Perkins heard after being blown 500 feet through a gun turret by a massive IED in the Korengal Valley—Death Valley—Afghanistan, 2011.

Everyone else in the vehicle died, and her patrol was now taking fire from what turned out to be an ambush - imagine that - surviving a blast that mangled your body and having to defend yourself before you even understood what had happened.

She almost lost both legs. The doctors gave her a choice:

👉 “We can amputate, or you can live in pain every day for the rest of your life.”

She chose the pain.

She chose to fight.

Since then, Elisha has beat colon cancer. Then breast cancer. Then thyroid cancer.

And now—she trains service dogs for veterans with PTSD.

She’s not just surviving. She’s building a purpose-driven life in the wreckage.

And she’s now training the Owen Army.
