We Fight Monsters is an anti trafficking and community restoration nonprofit working in Memphis, Tennessee - one of the most violent cities in America. We convert dope houses into sober living homes, partner with law enforcement on trafficking and exploitation cases, and rebuild the people the system wrote off. Nobody on our board takes a paycheck.
WHAT HAPPENED IN 60 DAYS:
• A missing person located and brought home
• A fugitive from justice found
• An active child sex trafficking investigation - multiple warrants, multiple arrests already made, minor victims recovered into safe housing
• 38 noncompliant sex offenders arrested in a North Mississippi operation, by a task force we outfitted with shirts, patches and flags
• 9 families furnished in a single day at Hood-Mart, our no-cost store for people coming off the street
• 7 veterans supported through Flanders Fields - an adaptive kayak for a combat disabled soldier, a terminally ill vet relocated to Florida, a repossessed vehicle bought back and paid off in full, an apartment furnished for a Vietnam veteran in recovery, and three men through detox, rehab, and out of a halfway house
• Another dope house renovated into a Sparrow House sober living home
• A Fourth of July block party on one of the deadliest streets in America, with zero incidents
All of it funded by regular people buying apparel and giving ten (or more) dollars a month. That's the whole model.
