The news of Brexit produced a rush of analysis, animations, explanations, reactions etc. But there's a few things the media isn't telling you; rather, things they aren't telling you correctly. For this reason, I made this short Brexit cartoon/animation.
When the UK referendum to leave the EU was supported by 52% of the voters, the media was in shock. As of the making of this video, it is still unclear as to how/when new Prime Minister Theresa May will handle the Brexit. From my reading, it seems clear that she has the mandate to procede with Brexit, with or without the Parliament. Royal Prerogative is laughed at by many legal experts, but in this example, the Parliament has abdicated decision making upon the populace. That populace turned out at a rate of 72%. The PM is now under the pressure of precedent back home, democracy, and ironically, EU law. Until the UK is completely extricated from the EU, the European Communities Act of 1972 is still active and presumably supercedent over UK law.
This video explains Brexit by digging a bit into Article 50. I've left some links below to some of the resources I used in researching this cartoon of Brexit.
