Pomona Valley Hospital and Stryker Biotech allegedly were conducting a research experiment by implanting a medical device containing Stryker’s OP-1 Putty (used to promote bone growth) and Calstrux (bone void filler) into patients’ spinal columns during spinal or cervical fusion surgeries. This mixture can result in the development and migration of unwanted and excessive bone growth leading to serious or catastrophic injury, compression of nerve channels, back and leg pain, crippling pain, and paralysis.
