שִׁ֥יר הַֽמַּֽעֲלוֹת לְדָוִ֑ד
הִנֵּ֣ה מַה־טּ֭וֹב וּמַה־נָּעִ֑ים
שֶֽׁבֶת אַחִ֗ים גַּם־יָֽחַד׃
כְּשֶׁ֣מֶן הַטּ֭וֹב עַל־הָרֹ֗אשׁ
יֹרֵ֗ד עַל־הַזָּקָ֥ן זְקַֽן־אַהֲרֹ֑ן
שֶׁיֹּרֵ֥ד עַל־פִּ֝י־מִדּוֹתָֽיו׃
כְּטַ֥ל חֶרְמֹ֗ון שֶׁיֹּרֵ֥ד עַל־הַרְרֵֽי־צִיּ֑וֹן
כִּי־שָׁ֨ם׀ צִוָּ֣ה יְהוָ֣ה אֶת־הַבְּרָכָ֑ה
חַיִּ֥ים עַד־הָעוֹלָֽם׃
Transliteration:
Shir ha-ma‘alot le-David:
Hinneh mah-tov u-mah-na‘im
Shevet achim gam yachad.
K’shemen ha-tov al ha-rosh,
Yored al ha-zakan, zakan Aharon,
Sheyored al pi midotav.
K’tal Chermon sheyored al harerei Tziyon,
Ki sham tzivah Adonai et ha-b’rakhah,
Chayyim ad ha-olam.
English Translation:
1. A song of ascents of David. Behold how good and
how pleasant it is for brothers also to dwell together!
2. It is like the precious oil upon the head,
coming down upon the beard, the beard of Aaron,
coming down over the collar of his robes.
3. It is like the dew of Hermon,
which comes down upon the mountains of Zion;
for there the LORD commanded the blessing
— life forever..
