Evening storms move in, severe weather threat north of Denver

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been posted through 9 pm north of Denver, including Fort Collins, Greeley and Fort Morgan. We've got a threat for severe storms for Thursday along the I-25 corridor, but storms will start to turn more isolated Thursday and Friday with limited coverage around the metro area and Eastern Plains.

Thursday, we'll have a threat for a few stronger storms from Denver north, with gusty winds and hail our main concerns. Most areas will not see a storm; however, where you do, there will be a hail and wind threat.

Storms will mainly be after 2 p.m. Thursday along the I-25 corridor, with a better chance of storms north and east of Denver today.

Storms will then clear Thursday night, and it'll give way to an overall drier and warmer weather pattern over the next few days.

Also, you'll notice some wildfire smoke overhead, mostly in the mountains Thursday, mainly thanks to fires that are currently burning in Arizona and Utah.

A ridge of high pressure will nudge in our direction this weekend, bringing temperatures up into the 90-degree range both days this weekend and we'll stay generally dry and warm into next week. Storm chances will be very limited after today and tomorrow.
