0:35Now PlayingOne of nine people charged in connection with a shooting that wounded former Denver Bronco Josh Reynolds and two others has pleaded guilty.
Burr Charlesworth pleaded guilty Thursday to a single count of conspiracy to commit first-degree assault. A spokesman for the Denver District Attorney's Office said Charlesworth is one of nine people who have been charged in connection with the Oct. 18, 2024 shooting.
The incident unfolded in the hours after the Broncos beat the New Orleans Saints in a Thursday night game. Reynolds stayed behind in Denver after suffering a broken finger on Oct. 6, 2024 in a game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
According to court documents obtained by 9NEWS Investigates, Reynolds and two companions had gone to Shotgun Willie’s, a strip club in Glendale. Security footage obtained by Denver Police detectives showed that a visitor to the club seemed to be paying particular attention to Reynolds and his friends.
After Reynolds and his companions got into his Ford Bronco to leave, people in at least three vehicles followed them. Then someone in one of those vehicles began firing. Reynolds and his companions were all injured, either by gunshots or flying glass.
Early on in the investigation, Denver Police arrested three people. The other arrests were not made public until Thursday when the DA's office noted them. Each of the other suspects faces attempted murder charges, according the Denver DA's office. One of them is a juvenile.
Charlesworth faces eight to 12 years in prison when sentenced in September.
