The current phrase heard everywhere is "six - seven."
It's become so prominent that some schools are even banning the phrase, saying it's disruptive to their classrooms.
But why do these generational slang phrases exist? Is there a benefit to young people?
Dr. Kristin Bovaird-Abbo, a professor of English at the University of Northern Colorado, breaks it down.
