After just one week in figure skates (and a lot of crying from a 3-year-old), her parents got her hockey skates and she never looked back. She reflects on the incredible sacrifices her parents made—her mom giving up her career, both parents working multiple jobs to afford the opportunity to play the game she loved.
Now a parent herself, Kendall shares how she and her husband (former Denver Broncos offensive lineman Michael Schofield, who blocked for Peyton Manning) approach sports with their son. They won't force him into athletics, but they recognize that sports are about so much more than winning and losing—it's the experiences, people, and opportunities that come from playing the game you love.
Kendall is most excited about the Olympic spirit—how it brings the world together through sport, with athletes watching and supporting each other. In a lighthearted moment at the end, she reveals her phone background: her dog Blue, "my first baby," taking priority over even her husband and son on her home screen.
