Aspen Acres wildfire: Evacuation orders in Custer County, Bishop Castle evacuated in Colorado

Several wildfires are burning in Colorado on Monday, with crews fighting wildland fires in Custer, Dolores, Mesa, Lake, and Ouray counties.

The largest of the wildfires in Colorado is the Snyder Fire burning near the Colorado-Utah state line. Three firefighters died Saturday after the fire burned over the crewmembers and fire shelters that were deployed. the U.S. Forest Service said.

Evacution orders were issued Monday morning for a wildfire burning in Custer County. The Aspen Acres Fire is estimated at 30+ acres and an evacuation shelter has been set up in Pueblo. Beulah Fire Protection officials said air resources have been ordered. The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office said anyone in the area of Aspen Acres, Lazy Acres, and Bishop Castle on Highway 165 must evacuate.
