3:45Now PlayingAn Aurora police officer has been charged in the fatal shooting of a man after the case was referred to a grand jury earlier this year. Aurora Police Department officer Matthew Neely, 54, is charged with second-degree murder and reckless manslaughter, according to court records.
Rajon Belt-Stubblefield, 37, was shot and killed by an officer after a traffic stop in the area of East Sixth Avenue and Billings Street on Aug. 30, 2025. Belt-Stubblefield was in the driver's seat of a vehicle that was captured on dash camera crashing into two vehicles while heading east on 6th Avenue.
Body camera footage shows an Aurora Police officer who's conducting speed enforcement approaching the vehicle with his gun drawn. Belt-Stubblefield is seen getting out of the vehicle and saying, “Don’t shoot me.”
