British citizens are no longer EU citizens, we have no representation at any level in the EU, and we are not exactly projecting a friendly attitude towards our neighbours. But the EU have a problem with the UK government that is not honouring the brexit treaties, and the EU seem incapable of enforcing the obligations. But the government cannot go against strong public feeling.
