1:54Now PlayingEvery weekend our football stars run onto the turf across the country and battle. They collide at break-neck speed, tackles are made, marks are taken, there are winners, there are losers. Most of all there are many, many sore bodies and many, many sore egos.
On Monday these hulking bodies shuffle into aqua facilities around our cities for recovery. 120 kilo props, 75 kilo midfielders and everyone in between toss themselves into the pool.
The transformation happens before the eyes of the journalists standing by as grown men frolic like children. The recovery is as much psychological as it is physical.
In this first person account our footballers tell us about the important role of the pool recovery session. How it can brighten a loss and amplify a victory. The soothing of muscles and egos alike.
