During the day Port Lincoln’s Linda Davies tries to help the forgotten, disadvantaged or abused in the community.

It’s quite stressful so after work she loves nothing better than unwinding with her friends.

But they’re quite unusual friends.

Sometimes they bite her, other times she gets a friendly scratch, or they chew a hole in her clothes, but mostly they seek her out for a cuddle.

Linda and partner Bronte run Two Songs Sanctuary, caring for 27 kangaroos and six wombats.

South Australian laws forbid returning humanised native animals to the bush, so Two Song Sanctuary is a forever home for the orphaned marsupials.

There’s no government funding and the sanctuary relies on donations, sponsorship, and a lot of hard labour from Linda and Bronte.

Linda, a former bar maid and hospitality worker, is passionate about caring for people and animals.

At Community House she runs programs to help improve the lives of disadvantaged but also to bring the community together.
