3:42Now PlayingTwo blacksmiths from the Cobargo region have set themselves an ambitious task – to create a memorial tree, with thousands of leaves forged from fire by locals who were impacted by the Black Summer bushfires. In a series of blacksmithing workshops, Iain Hamilton and Philippe Ravenel are mentoring community members to create a gumleaf, inscribed with their name, for a sculpture of “a tree that does not burn”, which will stand as a symbol of what was lost, and the enduring strength of their community.
