Advancements in medicine and treatments over the past few decades have given us more choice about how we die in old age. In ten minutes Lecturer in the School of Population Health Ebony Lewis will talk to you about how to plan for a good death, and why conversations about death and dying is everybody’s business. Ebony Lewis is a researcher and has extensive clinical experience in geriatrics assessment and gerontology research and a passion for improving the health and well being of older adults. Her work has focused on a program of research aiming to improve the end-of-life care experience for frail older adults, families, caregivers and clinicians. She also leads a program of research around frailty and ageing through the life-course with a strong focus on frailty identification, prevention and in older adult populations to improve health and well being outcomes. Ebony is a lecturer in the School of Population Health and convenes two postgraduate courses in the Master of Public Health and also delivers regular lectures in the undergraduate Medical program. She is currently undertaking her PhD at UNSW with her research focusing on frailty and dementia throughout the life course. within tertiary, primary care and in the community setting.
