1:34Now PlayingCould you run 436 kilometres in 65 hours? 🏃
Well, that’s exactly what Adelaide’s Yuko Sato did during a backyard ultramarathon in Queensland recently.
The Japanese-born endurance runner set two records at the Clint Eastwood Last One Standing event — surpassing both the Japanese and Australian female runner distance.
Backyard ultras work in the following way: competitors have to complete a course of 6.71 kilometres inside an hour.
Whatever time they have left over inside the 60 minutes can be used for recuperation, but once that time is up, the runners have to begin the course again.
