Nargis Fakhri, is an American-born Bollywood actress and model, famously known for her lead role in the blockbuster romantic drama Hindi film, Rockstar, for which she was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. In this interview, we meet the real Nargis; the light-hearted human being beyond the glitz and glam of Bollywood.

Born and raised in New York City to a Pakistani father and a Czech mother, Nargis considers herself a 'global citizen'. However, her childhood was not your typical upbringing. She describes it as 'poor', encouraging her to start working at a very young age. How rough was her childhood and was it actually an advantage in her story?
