In the years leading up to 1904, Wilhelm von Oddball would often give lessons to Hans in full view of his neighbors, who would watch in bewilderment as Wilhelm drew diagrams for Hans on a chalkboard, fervently describing numbers, colors, and the sorts of things that a young child might learn between recess and naptime...
