7:17Now PlayingIn an opening statement at a House hearing featuring former special counsel Robert Mueller, House Intelligence committee chair Adam Schiff said people involved in the Trump campaign lied to the public, to Congress and to the team conducting an investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election and possible ties to President Donald Trump’s campaign. Schiff, D-Calif., said the Trump campaign did not “shun" but “invited,” “encouraged” and “made full use of” dirt that was offered to them by foreign sources. “This is what is at stake," Schiff said. Our next election, and the one after that, for generations to come. Our democracy.”
