Jamie Raskin, D-Md., said there is no reason former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski should be allowed to claim executive privilege and refuse to answer lawmakers’ inquiries because Lewandowski never worked for the White House. During a hearing before the House Judiciary Committee, Raskin pointed out that Lewandowski could only claim that he has advised the president. “The president tweets out that various Fox News anchors advise him, are they covered by this privilege too?” Raskin asked. Lewandowski was one of the people featured in special counsel Robert Mueller's probe of Russian meddling during the 2016 election, including in Mueller's investigation of possible obstruction of justice by President Donald Trump. The White House barred two former Trump aides, Rick Dearborn and Rob Porter, from testifying and directed Lewandowski to not answer questions about private conversations between himself and President Donald Trump.
