General Assembly in New York, U.S. President Donald Trump called on the world to end religious persecution. “America stands with believers in every country who ask only for the freedom to live according to the faith that is within their own hearts,” Trump said. Trump said religious freedom has been a priority for his administration and listed the steps his White House has taken to ensure religious liberty, including eliminating the Johnson Amendment that prohibited nonprofit organizations from endorsing political candidates.
