Rep. Devin Nunes, the ranking member on the House Intelligence Committee, said during an impeachment hearing, that House lawmakers won’t hear “what actually happened with” U.S. aid to Ukraine because Democrats won’t call to testify the people who were in charge of the aid. House lawmakers questioned Office of Management and Budget official Mark Sandy behind closed doors but as of Nov. 20, had not released the transcript of his testimony. “I would think it’s obstruction of justice to not give the American people and give the am the right to look at the transcript of the man who’s in charge of the foreign aid in this town,” Nunes said. Gordon Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, testified during the hearing that there was a “quid pro quo” in which U.S. aid and a White House meeting were contingent on Ukraine agreeing to investigate.
