In an impeachment hearing on Nov. 21, Fiona Hill, the former top Russia adviser for the White House, disputed the characterization put forward by another impeachment witness, Tim Morrison. In response to a question from Republican counsel Stephen Castor, Hill said she was “surprised” when she heard Morrison, a former White House official who served on the National Security Council, say that she told him she was questioning the judgment of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, another impeachment witness who expressed concerns about President Donald Trump’s request that Ukraine investigate the Bidens. Hill said the situation in Ukraine was becoming more partisan and she didn’t think Vindman “had the political antennae to deal with something that was straying into domestic politics.” “That does not mean in any way that I was questioning his overall judgement, nor was I questioning in any way his substantive expertise,” Hill added.
