Fiona Hill, the White House’s former top Russia adviser, said she did not find it “credible” that Gordon Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, did not make the connection between the Ukrainian energy company Burisma and the Bidens as she and others did. Sondland had testified a day earlier that he did not initially make the connection between the two. “It is not credible to me that he was oblivious,” Hill testified during an impeachment hearing on Nov. 21, in response to questions from Rep. Sean Maloney, D-N.Y. Hunter Biden, the son of former vice president and 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden, sat on the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company. The Trump impeachment inquiry seeks to determine, in part, whether Trump pressured Ukraine to investigate the Bidens in exchange for a White House meeting and U.S. aid.
