In his opening remarks ahead of a historic impeachment vote in the House, Tom Cole, R-Okla., said it was a "sad day," adding that it was going "to be a deeply partisan vote, coming at the end of an unfair and rushed process, prescribed solely by Democrats who ensure a predetermined result." Cole further criticized Democrats for a "truncated investigation" that relied on "cherry picked evidence." He also urged against the impeachment process and vote. The two articles charge Trump with abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. If passed, the process will then head for a trial in the Senate, where Republicans have a majority.
