as posted by the channelDuring the sixth Democratic debate, 2020 presidential contender Tom Steyer was asked whether he’d support a federal program to relocate people and business away from areas especially vulnerable to climate change like Miami or Paradise, Calif.. Steyer did not directly answer the question, but said that he’s the only candidate on stage who can say unequivocally that climate change is his number one priority. He added that the climate crisis is an opportunity to clean the air and water in low-income communities and create jobs. And if we don’t declare a state of emergency on Day 1 of the presidency, he said, “I don't understand how we go to the people around the world to lead the coalition that has to happen and that only America can lead.”
