And in order to do it, we’re going to need a nominee and a president who can respond to the crisis of belonging that it gripping our nation today,” he said. Buttigieg is one of seven Democrats vying for their party's presidential nomination in 2020 who met the increasingly challenging qualifications to be on the debate stage on Dec. 19, 2019.
