15:35Now PlayingAndrew Yang dropped out of the 2020 Democratic presidential race on the night of the New Hampshire primary. “It is bitterly disappointing for many of us, but it shouldn’t be,” Yang told supporters. “We have touched and improved millions of lives and moved this country we love so much in the right direction,” he added. The 45-year-old entrepreneur and first-time presidential candidate ran on his signature idea of giving every American adult a universal basic income of $1,000 a month. He said the plan would help offset the impact automation is having on American workers. New Hampshire was the second contest in the Democratic primary race after Iowa voters caucused Feb. 3. Former mayor Pete Buttigieg and Sen. Bernie Sanders nearly tied for first place in that state, although an official winner has not been declared because of technical issues with reporting the results and an ongoing recanvassing effort.
