The head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases told PBS NewsHour's Judy Woodruff that states should continue to reduce the level of infection so that schools can reopen safely. "If you are in a red area, state, city or county," — a place that has a high rate of infection — "then you really better think carefully before you just jump into school," he said. "If you want your schools to open, get your community level [of transmission] down — down to a safe level."
