1:18:21Now PlayingRepublican delegates from around the United States formally picked former President Donald Trump as nominee in a roll call Monday at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, two days after an assassination attempt against Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania.
The suspected shooter, who was killed by law enforcement, killed one person and seriously injured two.
During the convention, delegates will adopt a party platform and formally nominate Trump as the Republican candidate for president. Trump is also expected to announce his running mate on Monday.
The Republican National Convention kicks off Monday, July 15, in Milwaukee against the backdrop of an apparent assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump this weekend. PBS News will have gavel-to-gavel special coverage each day of the convention, with a continuous stream from the main floor.
