1:34Now PlayingFormer Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, a Republican who is not supporting former President Donald Trump in the election, says Ohio Sen. JD Vance is in a prime position to "double down" on the MAGA movement as the Republican Party's vice presidential nominee.
"I think you'll see him turn to an attack dog mentality," Hutchinson told PBS News Hour's Geoff Bennett at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Thursday. "He is just firm as can be and intellectually supportive of a more isolationist United States of America, and that's not the Republican Party that has robust leadership. I want our party to be the pro-America party and not the pro-Putin party."
Thursday is the final night of the Republican convention, an evening focused on making “America great once again” and Trump’s first speech as party nominee.
Throughout the week, Republican elected officials, party leaders, celebrities and voters have taken the stage to speak in support of Trump and Vance. They also adopted a party platform.
