1:29Now PlayingWhen President Joe Biden stepped onto the stage Monday at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, he was greeted by a long ovation, cheers and emotional chants of "Thank you Joe" by the crowd.
The standing ovation lasted for longer than four minutes.
Biden's decision in July to step aside from the race for the White House and pass the torch to Vice President Kamala Harris has reinvigorated the Democratic base, creating a surge of energy and enthusiasm for the campaign. Later this week, Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will formally accept their nominations as the party’s candidates.
