1:39Now PlayingPresident Joe Biden gave a eulogy highlighting his long friendship with former President Jimmy Carter during the 39th president's funeral on Thursday at the Washington National Cathedral.
The pair’s friendship spanned decades to when President Biden was a young Delaware Senator and endorsed Carter's White House bid in 1976.
"Jimmy Carter taught me the strength of character is more than [a] title or the power we hold. It's the strength to understand that everyone should be treated with dignity, respect [and] that everyone ... deserves an even shot," said Biden.
