7:05Now PlayingSen. Jim Banks, R-Ind., accused President Joe Biden and the Pentagon of wasting resources on "woke training" during his questioning of defense secretary nominee Pete Hegseth on Tuesday.
He criticized the time the Department of Defense has spent "on counter-extremism and diversity training, what you and I might call 'woke training' or DEI,” Banks said.
Hegseth agreed with Banks and said that it was “more troubling” that Biden initiatives had taken away from training hours.
Hegseth is a military veteran and conservative media personality. President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for defense secretary has faced allegations of sexual misconduct and excessive drinking, and been criticized as a nominee for his controversial views on diversity and religion in the military.
