1:50Now PlayingOn Friday, President Donald Trump ordered the immediate removal of a peace vigil tent that has stood outside the White House since 1981.
Trump was speaking with reporters in the Oval Office after signing an executive order to rebrand the Department of Defense as the Department of War, when Brian Glenn, a correspondent for the conservative outlet Real America’s Voice, asked the president about the tent.
"All of us in here walk right by it every day," Glenn said. "It is an eyesore."
Trump said he didn't know about tent in Lafayette Park, which has stood for decades and is considered the longest continuously running protest vigil in U.S. history.
"Take it down," Trump said. "Take it down today. Right now."
