as posted by the channelNASA has named three U.S. astronauts and one Italian for its next space mission, as the agency works to ward a moon landing as soon as 2028.
The Artemis III crew received a warm welcome at a press conference in Houston on Tuesday. NASA is looking to build on this year's successful Artemis II mission, which saw astronauts fly around the moon.
The members of that mission handed off a symbolic red baton to this crew, which is not heading to the moon. Rather, they will orbit Earth and practice docking in a two-week mission set for next year.
Tuesday's announcement comes less than two weeks after the fiery explosion of Blue Origin rocket on a launchpad in Florida. The company is due to provide a lander as part of the Artemis III mission.
