1:37Now PlayingFederal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh said Wednesday that what Americans facing rising prices need to know is that the central bank can’t have “a very significant effect on particular prices.”
“But we do have a really important job there,” Warsh said, “and it’s to make sure that those changes in oil or beef or eggs or milk don't broaden in the economy — don't have second- and third-order effects. That’s our job.”
Warsh was asked what he'd say about rising costs to someone he met at the grocery store in his first news conference as the new Fed chair.
