1:19Now PlayingActing Attorney General Todd Blanche said he will “absolutely follow the law, no matter what it includes” when asked Wednesday during his confirmation hearing whether he’d commit to not deploying federal agents to polling locations.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., said federal law has made it clear since the Civil War that the president doesn’t have the authority to deploy armed federal officials to election sites.
Blanche did not specifically mention polling locations when saying he would follow the law.
Klobuchar also asked if he understood why voters are concerned about armed agents at election sites, to which Blanche responded he was “not aware of that concern.”
